Rider killed in road mishap

Mysuru:  A 22-year-old scooterist, who was trying to overtake a car on Nelson Mandela Road yesterday afternoon, lost control of the vehicle and fell down resulting in him suffering serious head injuries. Though he was being rushed to a hospital, he breathed his last mid way and the pillion rider has escaped with minor injuries.

While the deceased has been identified as Mohammed Nawaz, a resident of Bharath Nagar, the pillion rider has been identified as Faraz Ahmed Khan.

It is learnt that Nawaz along with Faraz were reportedly speeding towards LIC Circle from Highway Circle in a Honda Activa scooter (KA-55-K-5356) when Nawaz, tried to overtake a car during which he lost control of the scooter and both fell down. They were dragged to a distance and hit a car coming from the opposite direction driven by one Nagaraju.

Following the mishap, Nawaz, who sustained serious head injuries was being shifted to a hospital, but breathed his last midway.

N.R. Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
