Second batch of Dasara elephants to arrive on Aug. 31

Mysuru: The second batch of seven Dasara Jumbos will arrive in Mysuru on Aug. 31, said DCF V. Yedukondalu. Speaking to Star of Mysore, he said that the second batch will have two new elephants Drona and Krishna from Mathigodu Elephant Camp in Nagarahole.  

This apart, Gopalaswamy, also from Mathigodu and Vikram, Gopi, Harsha and Prashantha of Dubare will also arrive. The elephants will be given a traditional welcome at the Jayamarthanda Gate before being taken inside the Palace premises.

Yedukondalu added that Krishna, which was participating in Dasara for the first time, is a champion in capturing elephants during special operations throughout the State.
