Mysuru: The Police Department, which had transferred Vijayanagar Police Inspector B.G. Kumar to headquarters, Central Range IGP Office, Bengaluru on Saturday on suspicion that there was something amiss in the encounter where Sukhwinder Singh was shot dead by Inspector Kumar, has now transferred Vijayanagar Assistant Sub-Inspector Venkatesh Gowda and four other staff of the Police Station.
Others who have been transferred are Constables Mahesh and Veerabhadra, Garuda vehicle drivers Eeranna and Punith. DCP M. Muthuraj issued the transfer order yesterday.
Following the transfer of Inspector B.G. Kumar to Bengaluru, Jayalakshmipuram Police Inspector Suresh Kumar has been given additional charge of Vijayanagar Police Station.
It may be recalled that though the shoot-out incident took place at about 9.30 am on Thursday, last (May 16) and even after one hour of shifting the body of Sukwinder to K.R. Hospital, Inspector Kumar had not passed on the information to the Police Control Room nor had he informed about the incident to the higher officials, according to the report submitted by City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna to DG&IGP, following which Inspector B.G. Kumar was transferred on Saturday night.
The case has been transferred to the CID and before the CID could begin their probe in a full fledge manner, six Police personnel have been transferred.
