Mysore/Mysuru: Alanahalli Police have arrested a woman tenant on charges of stealing gold ornaments from the house of the owner.
The arrested woman has been identified as 35-year-old Priyadarshini, a native of Mandya, who had taken the house of Jyothi on rent at Yaraganahalli in city.
Priyadarshini had allegedly stolen the key of Jyothi’s house and when Jyothi had gone out of the house, Priyadarshini had reportedly entered the house and stolen 35 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 1.45 lakh which was kept in the almirah.
Following the burglary, Jyothi had lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional Alanahalli Police, who visited the spot, conducted mahazar, collected information from Jyothi during which the Police suspected Priyadarshini behind the burglary. When the Police interrogated Priyadarshini, she is said to have confessed of committing the crime.
The Police also came to know that when Priyadarshini was staying in Mandya and Srirangapatna, she was involved in burglary cases.
