Three killed as tree falls on car

Bengaluru: Three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries when a huge tree fell on the car they were travelling at Bengaluru yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh (42), his wife Bharati (38) and Bharathi’s brother Jagadish (46), all residents of Sunkadakatte on Magadi Road. Also, two other occupants of the car who sustained injuries were admitted to a hospital.

The car in which the five were travelling was moving near Minerva Circle, when a huge eucalyptus tree got uprooted amidst heavy rain and wind and fell on the car, killing the three on the spot.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a youth was washed away in a flowing stream in the city,it is learnt.
