Mysuru: The villagers of Hundipura and Chowdahalli and surrounding villages on the fringes of Bandipur Tiger Reserve, who had breathed a sigh of relief following the capture of a tiger which had killed two persons in a span of one month, were in for a shock, when they found the body of a man allegedly mauled by a tiger at Madapatna in the border of Bandipur this noon.
On learning about the incident, the Forest Department personnel have rushed to the spot to investigate.
Though the Forest officials have not confirmed whether the man was mauled by the tiger, the villagers said that the injuries found on the man has been made by a tiger and are now wondering whether the tiger that was tranquillised recently and shifted to the rehabilitation centre was the one which had killed two villagers. More details awaited.
