Mysuru: The popular Snake Park in Vidyaranyapuram here has become more attractive now with the addition of a colourful musical fountain established at a cost of Rs.40 lakh.
In the background is played 10 songs in Kannada and Hindi beginning with ‘Naada Geethe’ followed by ‘Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku’ from the movie Akasmika, ‘Bombe heluthaithe’ from the film Rajakumara, ‘Made in India’, ‘Naavu Bharatiyaru’, Baarisu Kannada Dindimava’ and a couple of other patriotic songs. The fountain dances to the rhythm of music with colours changing accordingly — a spectacle to watch. The musical fountain will work from 7 pm to 7.30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and on Government holidays.
This is the second park after Kuppanna Park to get a musical fountain which is designed by a Bengaluru-based company. The park attracts people from Vidyaranyapuram, Chamundipuram, Agrahara, J.P. Nagar and Krishnamurthypuram.
‘Mathina Mantapa,’ a spacious garden, exercising equipment and games for kids are already existing in the park. A trial run of the musical fountain was conducted recently which drew a lot of crowd clicking photos of the colourful fountain.
Corporator M.V. Ramprasad said that the park provides a soothing ambience to relax with the musical fountain being an additional feature. The fountain will be officially inaugurated soon.
