Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised varied programmes at its premises on JLB Road in city during this weekend.
On Feb. 13 for Dr. K. Srikantaiah Memorial Programme sponsored by Dr. K.S. Chandrashekar, a special talk ‘Sri Krishnana Matru Vatsalya’ by Dr. Jyothi Shankar has been organised at 6 pm which will be followed by rare solo dance feature ‘Amma’ by Natyarani Shantala awardee Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy at 6.30 pm.
About ‘Amma’: Script and concept by Dr. Jyothi Shankar; Music scored by Vid. Bala Subramanya Sharma along with Vid. Sandesh Barghav on natuvanga, Vid. Janardhan on mridanga, Vid. Nithish Ammanaya on violin; rythmpad and special effects by Vid. Prasanna; recorded at Omkar Studio of Bengaluru.
‘Amma,’ depicting Krishna’s compassion towards his mothers who gave birth and helped him grow, is based on Geethacharya Krishna’s dialogue with them at the fag-end of his ‘avathara’ wherein it portrays his imaginary interactions with them to clear off guilt, that he is a person who manoeuvres life, politics, etc.
On Feb. 14 at 6 pm, for T.V. Alamelu Birthday Remembrance programme sponsored by Dr. Meera Nathan, Vid. R. Mohan will present a Karnatak Classical Music through clarinet. He will be accompanied by Vid. R. Dayakar on violin, Vid. Tumkur B. Ravishankar on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan Rao on ghata.
