Vijayanagar Football Club, Mysuru, has won the State-level ‘7 a side’ Huthari Floodlight Football Tournament organised by Vaishnavi Football Club at Maragodu Government School Grounds in Madikeri.
More than 30 teams from South India participated in this prestigious Tournament.
Vijayanagar Football Club, Mysuru, defeated Nehru FC (Defending Champions since two years) by a margin of 1-0 in the final match. Rishabh Cariappa scored the only goal in the finals.
Vijayanagar Football Club, Mysuru, defeated Milan Boys, Ammatti, who were the finalists last year with a goal difference of 2-0 in the first semifinals.
With this victory, Vijayanagar Football Club won a cash prize of Rs.30,000. Rishabh Cariappa and Yashwant Kumar were awarded ‘Top Goal Scorer’ and ‘Best Goal Keeper’ respectively.
Vijayanagar Football Club was crowned the KKFC Chetthalli State-level Super 9s Champions in January.
It has been promoted from Bangalore C Division to Bangalore B Division by representing Mohammaden Sporting FC in which 91 teams had participated.
They will be aiming to qualify for Bangalore A Division in the following season.
