Workshop on Assessing Personality

Mysuru: A three-day workshop for finalising the Framework for Assessing Personality was held at the National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru recently.

Skill development is an integral part of personality development education that contributes to the learner’s personality growth. Hence, at NTS-I, any achievement test construction includes testing of one’s personality besides testing one’s subject knowledge. Towards achieving this objective, NTS-I has been developing separate frameworks for assessing achievement, aptitude and proficiency.

During the workshop, the experts went through the material, found it necessary, and put their best efforts to make it worthwhile for the stakeholders in the field of Teaching and Testing. The Assessing Personality comprises approximately 100 terms in the areas of Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor domains.

The experts who participated in this programme are Prof. D. Kumaran (formerly of University of Madras), Prof. G. Venkatesh Kumar (Department of Psychology, University of Mysore), Dr. Gnanadevan and Prof. Chandra Mohan (Associate Professor, Department of Education and Assistant Professor, CAS in Linguistics respectively from Annamalai University, Chindambaram, TN).

Dr. V. Ilangovan (SRP, NTS-I) coordinated the workshop.
