Mysuru: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NIE Institute of Technology (NIEIT), Koorgalli, had organised a two-day workshop on “MEMS & Microsystems: Classroom to Cleanroom” on Oct. 13 and 14 at its premises.
The workshop, organised in association with FTD Infocom Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, intended to introduce and hand-hold the participants about Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) from basics to complete design, modelling and simulation cycle of MEMS devices. The workshop included brief lectures and hands-on training on state-of-the-art MEMS design tools MEMS+ and CoventorWare.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. T. Ananthapadmanabha, Principal, NIE IT. Sagar A. Deshpande, Professor, NIE and Dr. Veda Sandeep Nagaraja, Professor, NMIT, Bengaluru, were the guests of honour.
Around 60 students took part in the event. Dr. Usha Surendra,Head, EEE, NIE IT, welcomed. Dr. B.S. Srikanthan, Dr. N. Mohan and S. Srinivas of NIE IT co-ordinated the workshop.
