Mysuru: City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested a youth on charges of stealing a gold chain and a mobile phone and have recovered a gold chain and an iPhone worth about Rs.1.04 lakh from him.
The arrested is 20-year-old Mudasir Khan, a resident of Usmania Block 17th Cross at Ghousia Nagar in city.
During interrogation, the CCB Police came to know that Mudasir had stolen the gold chain from a car near Bommur Gate in Srirangapatna taluk and a case was registered at Srirangapatna Police Station in this regard.
Following chain-snatching incidents in city recently, a team led by CCB Inspector C. Kiran Kumar was formed and the team was able to nab Mudasir.
ASI Chandregowda and staff C. Chikkanna, Ramaswamy, M.R. Ganesh, Rajendra, Niranjan, Anand, Anil, Prakash, Chandrashekar and others took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
