100th Convocation of UoM: Calling Degree, Ph.D holders

Mysore/Mysuru: The 100th Annual Convocation of the University of Mysore (UoM) will be held in March or April 2020. 

According to a press release from the UoM Registrar, admission to the Convocation is open to candidates for Post-Graduate Degrees and Doctorate Degrees and candidates who are winners of Medals/ Prizes.

Candidates for Degrees such as B.Ed., LLB, BP.Ed., etc. are not considered as candidates for PG degrees since the above said degrees are basic degrees in the respective specialisation and admission to the Convocation in their cases is restricted only to those candidates who are Medallists and Prizes winners. 

Candidates may obtain their degrees either ‘In Person’ or ‘In Absentia’ by applying in the prescribed form issued by the Registrar (Evaluation), UoM or from the concerned colleges where they studied or from the University during office hours.

Certificates to candidates who apply for taking degrees ‘In Absentia’, will be sent to them directly through Registered Post / Speed Post (BNPL) by the Registrar (Evaluation), after the Convocation.

Candidates who have passed the Degree exam with the ‘class declaration’ in the final year/ semester marks card at the exams held during September-October 2018 and May-June 2019 are eligible for applying for taking Degree in this Convocation. 

Those who have passed their Degree examinations held during September-October 2019 are not eligible for obtaining their Degrees at this Convocation except B.Ed Degree exams.

Fee for obtaining the Degree certificate is as follows: 

Ph.D: Rs.2,660 for General Category and Rs. 1,200 for SC,ST,Cat-1.

PG Degree, LLB, B.Ed: Rs.1,940 for General Category and Rs.900 for SC,ST,Cat-1.

Others: Rs.1,450 for General Category and Rs.660 for SC,ST,Cat-1.

Those who have paid the convocation fee at the time of final examination need not pay again. Candidates belonging to SC,ST and Cat-1 shall enclose a photostat copy of the caste certificate issued by the competent authority in their application. 

The fee has to be remitted to the ‘Examination Account,’ University of Mysore, Mysuru or DD drawn in favour of The Finance Officer, University of Mysore, Mysuru, for the purpose of Convocation fee.

Duly filled-in applications along with the Challan, DD and photostat copies of final year marks card (not consolidated marks cards) should be sent to the Registrar (Evaluation), University of Mysore, Mysuru – 570005 before Mar.15 without fine and Mar.20 with a fine of Rs.100.
