Ganavisharada Shri Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sri Prasanna Seetarama Mandira will be holding its 103rd year Ramanavami Music Festival from today (Apr.13). The 11-day festival will be inaugurated by President of the Trust R. Guru at 5.30 pm. This will be followed by the inaugural Nadaswaram Recital by Mysore V. Krishnamurthy. The following 10 days will witness grand concerts by very eminent musicians from across India:
Sunday, 14th April: Dr. Suma Sudheendra from Bengaluru will present a Veena recital accompanied by Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash on Violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankara Swamy on the Mridanga and Vid. M.R. Manjunath on the Ghata.
Monday, 15th April: Vid. TNS Krishna from Chennai (son and disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan) will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash on Violin, Vid. H.S. Sudheendra on Mridanga and Vid. Phaneendra Bhaskar on the Ghata.
Tuesday, 16th April: Vid. Vignesh Ishwar from Chennai will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Vittal Rangan on Violin, Vid. Tumakur B. Ravishankar on Mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on Ghata.
Wednesday, 17th April: Vidu. Amritha Murali from Chennai will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Mathoor Srinidhi on Violin, Vid. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma on the Mridanga and Vid. Sunad Anoor on the Khanjira.
Thursday, 18th April: Malladi Brothers will present a vocal duet concert accompanied by Vid. Gokul on the Violin, Vid. B.C. Manjunath on the Mridanga and Vidu. Sukanya Ramagopal on the Ghata.
Friday, 19th April: Vid. M.R. Sudha from Mysuru will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Janardhan on the Violin, Vid. Cheluvaraju on the Mridanga and Vid Sharath Koushik on the Ghata.
Saturday, 20th April: Vid. T.V. Shankaranarayana from Chennai will present a vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Mathoor Srinidhi on Violin, Vid. K.V. Prasad on Mridanga and Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on Ghata.
Sunday, 21st April: Vid. Mysore M. Nagaraj and Dr. M. Manjunath will present a Violin Duet concert accompanied by Vid. Hari Kumar on Mridanga and Vid.Guruprasanna on the Khanjira.
Monday, 22nd April: Vid. Prasanna Venkataraman from Chennai will present a Vocal concert accompanied by Vidu. Charulatha Ramanujam on Violin, Vid. H.S. Sudheendra on Mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan Rao on ghata.
Sri Rama Pattabhisheka
As has been the tradition, Sri Rama Pattabhisheka will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 23, followed by Mahamangalarathi at 1 pm. Vid. Vamshidhar from Mysuru will present a Flute concert at 6 pm accompanied by Vid. C.N. Thyagarajan on Violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on Mridanga, Vid. S. Manjunath on the Ghata and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on Morching.
The Government has recognised the Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sri Prasanna Sitarama Mandira as a heritage structure in view of its association with fine arts for more than 100 years. Ganavisharadha Shri Bidarama Krishnappa was a well-known musician and vocalist who wanted to construct a venue dedicated to Sri Rama and for promotion of Karnatak Music and made yeoman contribution to promoting the art and culture of Mysore.
Music-lovers are requested to attend all the concerts in large numbers and make the programme a success.
