Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, JSS Dental College and Hospital, Bannimantap, in collaboration with the Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS), Karnataka State branch, conducted the 10th annual conference in city recently. A total of 250 delegates participated.
Dr. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, who was the chief guest, urged the delegates to embrace precision dentistry aligned with emerging technologies, thereby making a significant impact in dental education.
Dr. Manesh Lahori, President of Indian Prosthodontic Society and guest of honour, offered invaluable advice to budding Prosthodontists. Dr. Chetan Hegde, Past President of Indian Prosthodontic Society, delivered “Dr. Satish Babu Memorial Oration” which was chaired by President-elect Dr Shilpa Shetty.
The conference showcased a line up of speakers from both national and international arenas, bringing together top minds and experts in Prosthodontics.
They shared their expertise and cutting-edge research, enriching the conference with diverse perspectives and invaluable knowledge on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Occlusal Derrangement and Back Pain, Life Casting, and Research Translating to Clinical Practice.
Dr. Supriya Chauhan from Dubai and an alumnus conducted pre-conference workshops with hands-on learning opportunities on life casting, a novel technique for duplicating a person’s body parts as keepsakes.
Dr Surabhi Mahidhar, Prosthodontist and Implantologist, also an alumnus, practically taught how to do dental implant impressions the conventional way and the digital way.
The organising team consisted of Dr. G. Anil Kumar, Dr. M.R. Dhakshaini, Dr. K.N. Raghavendra, Dr. S. Ganesh, Dr. M.B. Ravi, Dr. Nanditha Kumar, Dr. B.S. Sunila, Dr. S. Sowmya, Dr. S. Meenakshi, Dr. C. Anupama, Dr. C.P. Kathyayani and the post graduates.
