NR Group, owners of Mysuru Warriors, concluded the Talent Hunt, grassroot programme with11 shortlisted players out of the 260 aspirants in Mysuru. These players include State Under 18 and Under 23 players, KPL Experienced players and Mysuru Zone’s upcoming players. From these shortlisted players, further two players will be selected, who will get an opportunity to represent Mysuru Warriors at the KPL 2018.
The 11 shortlisted players will undergo rigorous training for 10 days, starting from Aug.4, before contesting for the permanent spot in the team. The candidates will also get a chance to practice alongside Mysuru Warriors 2018 team, during this session.
The shortlisted players are Kishan S. Bidare (National Cricket Club), M. Venkatesh (JoJo Cricket Club), G.L. Yashas (JoJo Cricket Club), Uttam Aiyappa (JoJo Cricket Club), K. Shashank (RBNCC), M.B. Darshan (RBNCC), Uttam Gowda (Jaihind Cricket Club), S. Bharath (Jawahar’s Cricket Club), K. Arun (MUCSU), B.L. Raghavendra Rao (Nanjangud Cricket Club) and Goutham Sagar (Saraswathipuram Cricket Club).
Modelled on the lines of IPL, the 20-20 Tourney is organised by the KSCA and will witness competition between 7 teams. Started in 2009, the KPL is now in its 7th season which will commence on Aug.15. The tourneys are scheduled to be hosted at Mysuru, Bengaluru and Hubballi.
