Mysore/Mysuru: Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, had organised 11th Nirantara Kalemane Utsava, on July 24 at Kalemane Sabhaangana in city.
Karnataka Kalashree Guru Prof. M. Shakuntala, former Principal and Professor, University College of Fine Arts, Mysuru, Dr. Maha Jabeen Najm, former Principal and Professor, University College of Fine Arts, Mysuru and Dr. Jamunarani V. Mirle, Artiste, Astrologer and Secretary, Mysore Art Gallery, inaugurated the Festival by lighting the lamp with the other eminent Gurus.
The ‘Guru Vandana’ and ‘Kalemane Award’ was conferred on Rajyotsava & Shantala Awardee, Karnataka Kalashree Nrutya Guru Prof. M. Shakuntala, retd. Principal, University College of Fine Arts, Manasagangothri, Mysuru.
The cultural programme started with a Bharatanatyam performance by Karnataka Kalashree Dr. Kumar, who dedicated the performance to his Guru Prof. M. Shakuntala. The programme was followed by Bharatanatyam performances by disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Dr. K. Kumar, KPAC, Mysuru, Guru Arathi Arun, Shri Ganesha Sangeetha Nrityala Charitable Trust, disciples of Vid. Gururaj Vasisth, Sudhindra Nritya Kalaniketana, disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Vidya Ravishankar, Director, Shri Matruka Cultural Trust, disciples of Guru Rajeshwari Ravi, Director, Shraddha School of Dance & Music, Bengaluru.
Senior Gurus Prof. Ramamurthy Rao, Guru D. Keshava (Switzerland), Esther Keshav, Guru Usha Venugopal and many witnessed the Festival.
