Mysore/Mysuru: The Directorate of Kannada and Culture in association with the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysuru, had launched ‘Learning Kannada Language through Post’ on Nov. 1, 1985 for all the Government employees who do not know Kannada.
This is a 12-month Kannada coaching classes through post where Kannada language will be taught to Government employees who are working at City Municipal Councils, KSRTC, Universities, Schools, Colleges, Government Aided Institutions and all Nationalised Banks.
When all these Government employees attend any camps or exams during working days that will be considered as on duty leave. However, this programme is now extended to general public also. Candidates who have a pass in SSLC and are aged between 18 and 50 years are eligible to apply along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 250. Twenty study materials (notes) will be sent by post to all the registered candidates. The exam dates will be announced once the coaching class concludes.
