139th Jayanti Mahothsava of Sri Ramana Maharshi observed

Dr. T.D. Roopamala, Professor, Department of Mathematics, SJCE, is seen inaugurating the 139th Jayanti Mahothsava of Sri Ramana Maharshi in city recently as Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions Principal Dr. P.S. Suresh, Sadvidya Composite PU College Principal D.S. Narasimha Murthy, Contractor H. Ashwathnarayana, Sri Ramana Jnana Kendra Trust Hon. President A.G. Suvrathindra, Vidu. S. Rashmi and others look on.

Mysuru: Students should adopt discipline and commitment in their lives and follow ideals of noted writers and poets, said Dr. T.D. Roopamala, Professor in the Department of Mathematics, SJCE here recently. 

She was speaking after inaugurating the 139th Jayanti Mahothsava of Sri Ramana Maharshi and Pratibha Puraskar presentation ceremony organised under the auspices of Sri Ramana Jnana Kendra Trust at Sri Ramana Jnana Kendra on Adichunchanagiri Road here.

Dr. P.S. Suresh, Principal of Sarada Vilas Educational Institution, who was chief guest, spoke on the current opportunities for students and advised them to make utmost use of them.

Later in his address, D.S. Narasimha Murthy, Principal of Sadvidya Composite PU College, spoke about the ill-effects of mobile phones and internet among the student community and added that students were forced into a state of confusion because of the same. 

He also regretted that today’s students were hesitant to speak in Kannada language in schools and colleges despite it being their mother tongue.

Contractor H. Ashwathnarayana, Vidu. S. Rashmi, Ramana Jnana Kendra Hon. President A.G. Suvrathindra were present.  

Later, a dance ballet on Ganesha Pancharathna and Ramayana was performed by  Vidu. S. Rashmi. Trust also distributed note books, stationeries and scholarships to the students.
