14 active dengue cases in Mysuru: DHO

Mysore/Mysuru: District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy has said, a total of 496 dengue cases have been reported in the district, from January until now, with 14 active cases under treatment with low mortality rate, as reported till Monday (July 8) afternoon.

Speaking to Star of Mysore,  Dr. Kumaraswamy said, when compared to previous years, the testing has been increased by 34 percent, hence the mortality rate is less.

Those infected by dengue are also recovering within two to three days, he added.

About the death of 32-year-old Lalitha, an employee of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Mysuru, which is suspected to be due to dengue, Dr. Kumaraswamy said, the exact reason behind her death can be ascertained only after completing the process of death auditing. She was also suffering from many other health ailments, added DHO Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy,
