Mysore/Mysuru: A total of 150 students of JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS-AHER), Mysuru, received their degrees at the Graduates Reception-2022 programme held at Sri Rajendra auditorium in the College premises at Bannimantap here on May 12.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Dr. S. Kumar, former Chancellor, Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Kolar and currently serving as Head (Academic and Content Development), Educational Assessment and Rating Foundation, Bengaluru, said that most of the medical graduates opt for Post-Graduate courses and also opportunities in health care sector.
Pointing out that medical education is in full demand now, Dr. Kumar said that it is hard to earn reputation in the medical field.
Maintaining that hard work and commitment is must for earning name and fame in the field of medicine, he said that doctors must always be prepared to face challenges.
Stressing on the need to build upon the education and experience that they had learnt in the college, Dr. Kumar said that there should be no discrimination in the treatment of patients.
Noting that doctors are treated as equivalent to God by the people, he said that it is important to show affection to patients from all sections of the society, without any differentiation.
College Principal Dr. H. Basa-vanagowdappa, in his address, said that the students have hard earned their MBBS degree after completing exams and Internship. Pointing out that MBBS passed students can now take up medical profession or pursue higher education, he called upon them to earn a good name in their profession wherever they are as a representative Ambassador of the Institution in which they studied.
Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji graced the occasion. JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath presided.
JSS AHER Pro-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Surinder Singh, Registrar Dr. B. Manjunatha, JSS Medical College Vice-Principal Dr. M.N. Suma, Academic Director Dr. P.A. Kushalappa, Administrative Officer S.R. Satishchandra and others were present.
Dr. R. Shreyans Darla of Mysuru bagged 4 Gold Medals and 5 cash prizes; Dr. Sanchi Aggarwal of New Delhi – 1 Gold Medal and 2 cash prizes; Dr. Sanandan Malhotra of Haryana – 1 Gold Medal and 1 cash prize; Dr. C. Kanmani of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu – 1 Gold Medal; Dr. Renesa of Haryana – 1 Gold Medal; Dr. Orus Erum of Bihar – 1 Gold Medal; Dr. Rishabh Jain of New Delhi – 3 cash prizes; Dr. Sneha Solomon of Kerala – 2 cash prizes; Dr. Lavisha Khandelwal of Pune – 1 cash prize and Dr. Rohan Khoobchandani of New Delhi – 1 cash prize.
