Mysuru: Around 17 companies in the district have spent Rs. 44.18 crore under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity in the last financial year. Among the companies, Infosys has spent the highest, contributing Rs. 25.85 crore.
DC D. Randeep held a review meeting of CSR activities with the officials and corporate representatives at his office this morning during which the works related to the development of lakes by various companies were discussed along with other activities. Currently, the works on rejuvenating Bommanahalli Lake has been taken up by RBI, Tavarekere, Devi Kere, Kempaiahna Kere and Thippaiahna Kere jointly by CII and Automotive Axels. The works on Thippaiahna Kere has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 32 lakh. They have also decided to increase water storage by around 25,000 litres. Meanwhile, the works at Bommanahalli Lake, taken up by RBI, is in full flow with completion of nearly 80 percent of works at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh.
DC Randeep has also suggested for the construction of a steel bridge for which additional funds have been sought. They have planned to develop the lake similar to that of an island.
Later, the officials also discussed various other initiatives taken up under the CSR activities in Mysuru.
