2 killed in road accidents

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate incidents, two persons were killed in road accidents in city.

In the first case, Ranganayaka (65), a resident of Amachavadi village in Chamarajanagar taluk, was killed when a scooter hit him on KRS Main Road on June 11.

Ranganayaka had come to attend a house warming ceremony at Gokulam at about 1 pm on June 11. After attending the ceremony, Ranganayaka was crossing KRS Main Road along with his friend when a speeding Honda Activa scooter (KA-09-HC-6844), which came from Vontikoppal Venkataramanaswamy Temple side, hit him resulting in Ranganayaka sustaining serious injuries.

Though he was admitted to a private hospital in city, Ranganayaka succumbed to injuries at about 5.15 pm. A case has been registered at V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station.

In the second incident, Rajendraswamy (54), a resident of Ashokapuram, who was walking on the roadside near the milk booth at Ballal Circle and hit by a bike (KA-09-HQ-6254) at about 7.30 pm on June 9, succumbed to injuries while being shifted to a private hospital on June 10.

Rajendraswamy, who sustained head injuries in the accident, went home and slept without going to the hospital. The next day early morning, his brother V. Venkataswamy, went to wake up Rangaswamy and found that his head was swollen and Rangaswamy not responding to his calls.

Venkataswamy, immediately rushed Rangaswamy to a private hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

A case has been registered at K.R. Traffic Police Station.
