Mysuru: Around 1,389 persons over 80 years of age and People with Disabilities (PwD) have cast their votes from their homes on Apr. 30 and May 1. On Apr. 29, a total of 954 people had exercised their franchise from their homes.
In all, a total of 2,343 people have taken advantage of the vote from home option, an initiative rolled out by the Election Commission for those coming under 80-plus bracket and PwD from Apr. 29 to May 1.Officials deputed for the purpose visited the homes of those who had opted to vote from their homes and the process was videographed. The ‘Vote from Home’ process will continue till May 6.
On Apr. 30, 773 persons above 80 and 127 people with disabilities from 10 Assembly segments in Mysuru district have cast their votes while 454 persons (above 80) and 35 (PwD) from six Assembly segments have cast their votes from their homes on May 1 (see table below).
