City lad D.S. Tejas has etched his name in International Book of Records by making 27 push-ups in 30 seconds by balancing on three empty bottles.
A final year BA student of Maharaja’s College, he is undergoing training in Karate Do Gojukhan at Srirampura and Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore. He created this international record on April 7, 2021.
He has been practicing Karate along with studies and has won the prizes in various inter-Varsity, State and National-level Karate Championships. He had secured first prize (Black belt division) in the State-level Dasara Karate Championship and first place in Mysore Varsity Inter-Collegiate competition in 55 kg category.
Tejas has won first prize (Senior Division) in Invitation National Karate Championship held in Mysuru in 2019, first prize (57 kg category) in Mysuru District Inter-Club Kick Boxing Championship, first in State-level open E-Kata Championship (senior Black Belt category), first in E-Kata Championship conducted by Karnataka State Karate Association, first place in State-level Goju Championship (senior category) and All India Inter-Varsity Championship held in Chennai last year.
Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Director, Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore, has complimented Tejas for achieving a rare feat by doing 27 push-ups on three empty bottles within 30 seconds.
