Mysore/Mysuru: Following a Government direction, the University of Mysore (UoM) has promoted students of Second and Fourth Semesters to the next Semester, through an intermediate result, even though no exams were held in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
UoM Registrar Prof. K.M. Mahadevan told Star of Mysore that as per the UGC guidelines in the wake of COVID-19 crisis, the University conducted exam only for final year Degree and Post-Graduate Degree courses. However, no exams were held for Second and Fourth Semester students of Degree courses and the students of these Semesters were promoted based on the marks they had secured in the First and Third Semesters. But the promotion of students who had failed in the First and Third Semesters has been withheld and such students need not worry as they will be promoted if they clear all subjects.
Referring to the issuance of marks card for Second and Fourth Semester students, Prof. Mahadevan said that students can apply for scholarship only if they have the marks card.
The University, taking note of this, has started issuing marks cards and the process will be completed before the deadline for scholarship application ends. Asserting that the marks cards issued are error-free, he said the marks cards are very much similar to the one that was regularly issued earlier.
