3-day workshop on ‘Internet of Things Using Raspberry Pi’

Mysuru: A three-day workshop on ‘Internet of Things Using Raspberry Pi’ was organised by the Department of Information Science & Engineering, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW) in association with Computer Society of India (CSI) and Monkfox – A Unit of GLIA Services Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru,  for the 4th and 5th semester students at the college premises on KRS Road here recently.

The workshop was inaugurated by resource persons Deepak Singh of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU), Varanasi and Corporate Trainer, Monkfox, Bengaluru and Divyang Sorathiya, Assistant Trainer, Monkfox, Bengaluru in the presence of  Dr. Reshma Banu, Head, Department of Information Science & Engineering, GSSSIETW.

The workshop enlightened the students about various sub-areas of IOT, Technology layers, product examples, Raspberry Pi platform, different methods of logging in to Raspberry Pi with hands-on session to build sample    applications like Temperature sensing system, home automation and overview of IOT  Cloud platforms.

The sessions included aspects of controlling  LED, reading switch inputs, shell scripting, python, I2C protocol, working of ADC’s, MQTT protocol and overall system architecture.
