Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the threat of vector-borne diseases looms large owing to mosquito menace following incessant rainfall that the district is witnessing since the past few days, DHO Dr. K.H. Prasad has asked the people to take necessary safety and precautionary steps.
Speaking to presspersons near the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here yesterday, Dr. Prasad said that the district has so far reported 320 Dengue cases, including 220 in Mysuru city alone.
Pointing out that Periyapatna tops the list of taluks with 28 cases, followed by Mysuru with 25 cases, he asked the people to stay safe from mosquitoes.
Asserting that the situation is under control and the people need not get scared, he said that people must ensure that water does not stagnate anywhere, as stagnated water is the most common breeding ground for mosquitoes.
He also advised people to get treated immediately if they show signs of fever or any other symptoms.
Regarding COVID, the DHO said that the pandemic is totally under control in the district and there is no need to panic in this regard.
