Mysuru: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, JSS Science and Technology University (JSS S&TU) in association with its student club – Linux Campus Club – is hosting a 36-hour hackathon called HackElite’19 based on the theme ‘Innovate and Initiate’ on Nov. 9 and Nov. 10 at its Golden Jubilee Bhavan.
The topics for hackathon are: Quality Healthcare, Rural Development, Smart Cities, Efficient Roadways, Public Digitalisation, Cyber Security and Forensic, Education and Disaster Management. After initial screening of 283 teams from all over India, 35 teams have been shortlisted for the main event.
The first and second prize winners will receive certificates and cash prize of Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 with internship avenues from industry. The event will be inaugurated on Nov.9 at 10 am by MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde.
Vice-Chancellor of JSS S&TU Dr. L. Jawahar Nesan will preside. Dean of JSS S&TU Dr. T. N. Nagbhushan and Achyuthan Panduranga of Hewlett Packard Enterprise will be the guests of honour, according to a press release.
