Aravind Shastry of Bengaluru with 8.5 points from nine rounds clinched the title in the 3rd Karnataka State Open Rapid Chess Tournament held at Bengaluru on Apr. 2.
Gavi Siddayya finished second with 8 points, while Nikhil C. Joshi (8 points) secured the third place. A. Balkishan (7.5 points) and Mysuru lad M.P. Ajith (7.5 points) secured the fourth and fifth places respectively.
Mysuru’s V.P. Darshan (7 points) secured the 8th place while Dhatri Umesh ( 5.5 points) finished 73rd in the final rankings.
