Mysuru: In all, 42 tableaux will participate in the Dasara-2017 Jumboo Savari, said Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer P. Shivashankar.
He was speaking at the State-level Nodal Officers Sub-Committee meeting on tableaux, at the Zilla Panchayat Office, here yesterday and said already 35 tableaux had been shortlisted. The theme for each of the 30 Zilla Panchayats as also from the State Departments’ Kaushalya Karnataka, Tourism Department, Kannada and Culture Department, Health, Social Welfare, Information and Publicity, Forest Departments, one tableau each has been finalised.
The tableaux will reflect the government programmes and its achievements apart from reflecting the Constitution, Social Justice and Equality, he said.
From Sept. 11, the preparations for the tableaux will begin at APMC yard. On Sept. 25, the tableaux’ booklet will be released and on Sept. 28, the full tableaux rehearsal will be held. Finally, on Sept. 30 all the tableaux selected will be on display at the Dasara procession, said Shivashankar.
In order to prevent any untoward incident like fire mishaps, behind every five tableaux a fire engine will follow. The mistakes that could have occurred in the earlier years would be rectified this year, he said.
Tableaux Sub-Committee Working President Ramakrishne Gowda, Secretary and ZP Chief Planning Officer Prabhuswamy, APMC Joint Director Mahesh, Srinivas and others were present at the meeting.
