Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Jayachamarajendra Scouts and Guides, District Head Quarters, had conducted a summer camp for children (Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts and Guides) in Baden Powell School premises here from April 9 to 12.
In all, 430 children and 30 teachers attended the camp inaugurated by Bharat Scouts and Guides District Chief Commissioner P. Vishwanath on April 9.
On this occasion, K.B. Gurumurthy, District Treasurer, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Abdul Jameel, District Secretary, K. Ramaprasad and R.P. Chandru, District Organisers and Radhakrishnan, Principal of Baden Powell Public School, were also present.
Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts and Guides participated in the summer camp where they learned about scouting and guiding, cooking without fire, painting and crafts, first-aid, magic show, self-defense, fire-fighting technique demonstration and various games.
Bharat Scouts and Guides Treasurer and BPPS Secretary Dr. K.B. Gurumurthy, P. Ravi Shankar, Dr. Ajay Kumar Jain, Scouts and Guides in-charge, Rajalakshmi and other team leaders were also present at the closing ceremony on April 12.
Certificates were distributed to all the children. The State Headquarters provided the children with scouting scarves and woggles.
The children happily participated and made this summer camp a grand success.
