Mysuru: “For the last seven months, 450 cases of dengue have been detected in the district,” said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep.
He was speaking at a meeting held at Giridarshini Guest House on Hunsur Road here yesterday to discuss on dengue cases in the city and district.
Randeep said that from January till date, 2,477 blood samples have been subjected to test and 450 samples were detected dengue positive, the break-up being 11 in April, 45 in May, 232 in June and 147 in July. He further said that the Health Officers of MCC have taken up extensive cleaning in all Wards and visiting every household to check the health of residents.
Continuing, Randeep said that he was aware of shortage of beds in hospitals for patients last month, which has eased now. He disclosed that till now, 13 people had died of viral fever and according to Death Audit Committee, 12 people were suffering from other fever and only one was suspected dengue case. A report in that context has been sent to the Government and a few blood samples have been sent to Manipal Research Centre for Cross-Checking. MCC, Health Department and other Department officials attended the meeting.
