Music infuses new energy in man: Ex-ISRO Chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar
Mysuru: Former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) A.S. Kiran Kumar has said, music provides a refreshing energy and helps mortals in understanding self to lead a life, as is evident with the life of spiritual thinkers and sages.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the five-day 29th Music Conference-2024, organised by JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust in commemoration of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, at Navajyoti Auditorium of JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram in the city yesterday.
“The musical waves generate new energy, the truth not many have understood. Music, percussion or sound are the innate instruments, through which the man can understand the world along with self. We can be aware of this truth by analysing the same through science and technology. However, not many make an attempt to explore the truth, but instead land in trouble, by getting besotted by the external attractions,” observed Kiran Kumar.
“In the era of fast-growing science and technology, the man is embracing trouble, without understanding self. We have been attempting at sending the man to different planets. But he has been inviting trouble on the land, with the misuse of science and technology. By making judicious use of science and technology, the man should focus on finding solutions to the problems,” suggested Kiran Kumar.
Veena maestro Dr. R. Visweswaran, President of the Music Conference, said: “It is most important to respect and follow the musical traditions. Suttur Sri Mutt is encouraging the art of music. Wish that, JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust achieves success in all its endeavours and celebrate its centenary year.”
“I thank Suttur Seer and the office-bearers of JSS Sangeetha Sabha Trust, for selecting me as the President of the Music Conference,” said Dr. Visweswaran.
Art patron P. Nithyananda Rao from Surathkal was conferred with ‘Sangeetha Seva Nidhi’ title on the occasion.
