Mysuru: More than 5 lakh workers from across the country will take part in the ‘Dilli Chalo’ rally to be organised by the CITU on Nov.9, to protest the anti labour policies of the Union Government.
Inaugurating a two-day State CITU meet at BSNL’s RTTC in T.K. Layout here on Friday, CITU General Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram said that 25,000 workers from the State will take part in the ‘Dilli Chalo’ rally on Nov.9, 10 and 11.
The demands include generation of jobs, strict enforcement for labour laws, social security for labour class, minimum pension of Rs. 3,000, equal pay for equal work and abolition of labour contract system, he said.
Continuing, he said that prior to the rally, torchlight processions will be taken out at the District and Taluk level on Oct.30.
CITU office-bearers K.M. Umesh, K. Shankar, G. Jayaram, Sunanda and others were present.
