As many as 6,505 cases were settled at the third National Lok Adalat of the year held at the courts in the city and across the district on Saturday. The Adalat saw the reunion of 31 warring couples, who had filed for divorce.
A total of 9,123 identified cases were taken up at the Lok Adalat for settlement, out of which 6,505 cases were settled amicably at the end of the day. The Adalat saw an amicable settlement of claims totally valued at Rs.36.02 lakh. The Adalat took place under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Court Judge Ravindra Hegde, who has thanked the Advocates, litigants, respondents and all others concerned for their participation.
