Mysore/Mysuru: The 67th installation ceremony of Lions Club of Mysore was held at its auditorium in Tilaknagar here recently.
Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, inaugurating the ceremony, said that an ideal society can be built only through social service and added that the Mysore Maharajas gained popularity across the world through their social services.
Yaduveer Wadiyar appreciated Lions Club for playing a crucial role in building a strong and meaningful society. “This Club was inaugurated by my grandfather Jayachamaraja Wadiyar in the year 1958 and since then it has been working efficiently for a period of 66 years,” he said.
Urging the service organisations to take up awareness programme on maintaining cleanliness, Yaduveer Wadiyar said that he would extend his support for such initiatives.
Lions District Past Governor Ln. K. Devegowda, First Deputy Governor Ln. K.L. Rajashekar, Ln. Narayanaswamy, President Ln. B. Shivanna, Immediate Past President Ln. B. Bharathi, Secretary Ln. J. Lokesh, Treasurer Ln. Anand Krishna, Lions Region Chairman Ln. Girish, Ln. H.B. Suresh, Past Lions District Governor Dr. Prabha Mandal, Ln. Shivakumar, Ln. Mohan Kumar and others were present.
On the occasion, Club distributed 20 laptops and notebooks as part of community service.
