Tests will be done at K.R. Hospital, District Hospital and all Taluk Hospitals
Mysore/Mysuru: With COVID-19 positive cases gradually increasing in the State, the Health Department has issued directions to conduct RT-PCR tests across the district.
As the District Administration has given a target to conduct 700 COVID-19 tests daily, RT-PCR tests are being conducted at city’s K.R. Hospital, District Hospital and all Taluk Hospitals, said District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. K.H. Prasad.
The DHO further said that patients with symptoms of cold, fever, cough and respiratory problems who come to hospitals are being made to undergo RT-PCR test and from Jan. 1, 2023 till Apr. 15, there are a total of 65 COVID-19 positive cases.
Of the 65 positive cases, seven persons are undergoing treatment at various Government Hospitals, four are being treated at private hospitals and 54 people are under house quarantine, the DHO added besides stating that there is 10.7 percent positive rate and the number of patients being discharged is more.
Stating that RT-PCR tests are being done only to those coming to hospitals, the DHO said that the tests are not being conducted to the public.
As the Health Department is taking all necessary precautionary steps to keep COVID-19 at bay, there are no serious cases, DHO Dr. Prasad said and added that Oxygen Beds, ICUs, medicines and medical equipment have been readied at K.R. Hospital, District Hospital and Taluk Hospitals.
