M.R. Dhanusha, representing University of Mysore, yesterday won the women’s Heptathlon gold in the ongoing 79th All India Inter-University Athletics Championship (2018-19), conducted by Mangalore University and Alva’s College, Moodabidri.
She secured first place in 100m Hurdles, 200m and 800m event, second in High-Jump, Long-Jump and Javelin-Throw and third in Shot-Put to log a total of 4,785 points. V.O. Nimmy of MGU, Kottayam secured silver, while Rimpy Dhabras of Kurukshetra bagged bronze medal.
Dhanusha is a student of Basudeva Somani College in Mysuru. Prabhakar, retd. SAI Coach and present University of Mysore’s Athletic Coach and Sadashiva Bhat, Physical Education Director, Basudeva Somani College, Mysuru, are with the University of Mysore contingent for the Meet in Mangaluru.
