Mysore/Mysuru: Ganjifa artist Raghupathi Bhat has advised devotees to practice meditation regularly for a happier and healthier life.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the valedictory function of 85th Trimurti Shiva Jayanti Mahotsava and Spiritual art exhibition of Spatika Linga and Dwadasha Linga, organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at its centre in Yadavagiri here yesterday. He also spoke about Yuga Dharma and the importance of devotion and meditation in Kali Yuga.

“In Krita Yuga, the highest virtue is said to be meditation and penance, while in Treta Yuga it is Dharma. In Dwapara Yuga, the main purpose is to establish Dharma in the world, which is totally absent in current Kali Yuga. This whole concept has been symbolised in the form of Vrishabha (Nandi) sitting on its broken three legs. It is also said that Dharma stands on four legs in Sat Yuga, on three legs in Treta Yuga, on two legs in Dwapara Yuga and on just one leg in Kali Yuga,” he explained.

Later, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar addressed the gathering. He  informed that the Varsity is mulling on telecasting 30-minute online spiritual discourses on weekends for the benefit of its students and added that he                                                             will discuss this further with Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.
