9,157 candidates attend KPSC exams in city

Mysore/Mysuru: A total of 9,157 candidates attended the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) examination for recruitment of various posts in government departments conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority across 29 centres in city this morning.

While a total of 13,501 were issued hall tickets, only 9,157 candidates appeared for the examination and 4,344 candidates skipped the exams.

In the morning session, candidates appeared for general knowledge examination and in the afternoon session held between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm candidates attended the language paper.

Additional DC Dr. P. Shivaraju, who supervised the examinations, visited all 29 centres to ensure the examinations were held transparently. The candidates were checked thoroughly before being let into the examination halls. The City Police had also deployed security personnel including home guards at Maharaja’s Junior College, Maharani’s Junior College, D. Banumaiah’s College, Teresian College, Maharani’s Arts and Commerce College, Maharani’s Science College for Women among other centres to name a few.  The authorities had also shut photocopy shops located within 200 metres radius of the examination centres.
