Agniveers and newly recruited Karnataka Police Constables felicitated
Mysuru: Soldier Academy, Mysuru, at Belawadi, hosted an event to celebrate the 92nd Indian Air Force Day. The event honoured retired Air Force veteran Ramnarayan and featured a blood donation camp in collaboration with Lions Club of Mysore Srigandha.
Special recognition was given to 56 Agniveers trained at the Academy, selected for the Indian Army for the third time, and 31 newly recruited Karnataka Police Constables. Lions Club Governor Krishne Gowda, farmer leader Bharat Kumar and Bannimantap Panchayat member Ningegowda were also honoured.
Contributors to the event included Lions Club of Mysore Srigandha, Nashak Ninth Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association, Silicon Valley Layout Welfare Association and Hootagalli KHB Merchants Welfare Association.
Soldier Academy Founder C.M. Sridhar highlighted the Air Force’s crucial role in national security since its formation in 1932 under British rule. He recalled the Air Force’s historic airstrike on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and its vital contributions during the Kargil War, providing air support to the Indian Army.
He noted the growing public awareness of Air Force Day, which was once primarily celebrated within Air Force stations.
Academy co-founder Anitha Sridhar, Bajrangi Nandeesh, Lions Club President Jyothi and faculty members Vijay Kumar, Raghu, Swamy, Lakmivenkatesh, Jayaprakash, and Pavan Kalyan were present.
