Sometime ago, a Star of Mysore reader had written in the this column about how much he enjoyed solving the cryptoquip puzzle and had thanked you for publishing the puzzle that provided so much intellectual pleasure to him and like-minded people. He had also suggested that habitual solvers of the puzzle could get-together sometimes.
I have pleasure in informing this friend that I am one who belongs to his group. I look forward to getting SOM every evening just to crack cryptoquip, besides enjoying the news and articles.
Besides, I do it entirely mentally, without jotting down the letters. I am in my 95th year. I am not saying this as a boast but just to illustrate what one can do with effort and practice.
