Bengaluru: Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister and Virajpet MLA, A.S. Ponnanna, has stated that the Lokayukta’s clean chit has proven that the MUDA case was politically motivated and was vendetta.
“The CM and others have been proven innocent. The Karnataka High Court has confirmed the transparency of the Lokayukta probe. Is H.D. Kumaraswamy above the Court?” he asked.
Speaking at Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday, Ponnanna asserted that CM Siddaramaiah had no involvement in the case, and consequently, no one else was implicated. He argued that the investigation found no criminal activity, accusing the BJP of fabricating the scandal.
Ponnanna questioned the logic of investigating a 25-year-old denotification and maintained that the case was politically motivated. He insisted that the legal battle should continue but political allegations would not be addressed, stating that accusations were coming from those who lacked faith in the Constitution and the rule of law.
Ponnanna further questioned whether BJP leaders intended to dictate the investigation’s course and criticised their approach as politically driven.
