Sir,
I came across a dangerous path in Gandhi Square recently where the High Tension electric pole was installed on the middle of the footpath!
Aren’t the footpath meant for the pedestrians to walk safely in city? If you see the picture, there is hardly 5 ft footpath and exactly in the middle there is a minimum of 3ft thick pole which has been installed for the underground electric cable connection.
I really don’t understand if the officials concerned are serious enough in ensuring public safety!! Have they not thought of the obstacle that will be caused if the pole be installed on the middle of the footpath! Where should the pedestrians walk?
If one observes the picture, there are two rods popping out of the pole — hardly 7 ft upwards from the ground. The pole and the material used on it is almost touching the nearby building.
I have observed similar pole installations in many places across the city. Don’t they pose danger to the public?
