A nonagenarian tax-payer’s appeal to MCC Commissioner

Sir,

The MCC Commissioner has been issuing ultimatums that if property tax is not paid before Oct. 31, 2020, the property will be seized. He is quite right in expecting taxes to be paid in time, for the Corporation to function normally.

I am a 90-year-old person. I have duly paid my property tax for 2019-20. If I go to the Corporation Office (near All India Radio) in Yadavagiri to pay my property tax for 2020-21, will the Commissioner guarantee that I will not catch Covid-19 from anyone in his office or from any member of the public who may be present there to pay tax like me ?

It is being emphasised by the Government from the very beginning that elderly people have to be extra cautious, because the chances of fatality is high among them.

Why not the Commissioner depute the concerned Revenue Inspector to my house, for collecting the tax?
