A small step towards a cleaner street…

Sir,

While passing through Koppalur near the J.P. Nagar Ring Road recently, I noticed something that genuinely made me happy. This stretch used to be a place where people casually threw garbage, including plastic waste. Sadly, cows and other animals were often seen eating from these piles, which was both disturbing and harmful to them.

A few days ago, however, I saw that the situation had changed. The area had been cleaned and measures had been taken to prevent people from dumping waste there. I later learnt that this initiative was taken by the Srirampura Town Panchayat and it truly deserves appreciation.

It may look like a small step, but such efforts make a real difference. They help protect the environment and also save animals from unknowingly consuming plastic and other harmful waste.

At the same time, this cannot be the responsibility of the authorities alone. People also need to be more mindful about how they dispose of their garbage. Using proper waste disposal methods and avoiding littering in public spaces is something all of us should practice.

When small initiatives like this are supported by responsible behaviour from the public, they can slowly change people’s mindset and help create cleaner, safer surroundings for everyone.
