A thought-provoking painting expo on earth and nature

Mysuru: Marking World Earth Day, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat in association with Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota had organised a painting exhibition on ‘Our Earth’ brought out by U.G. Mohan Kumar Aradhya at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira premises here yesterday.

Agriculture Scientist Dr. Vasanth Kumar Thimakapura inaugurating the expo opined that human habitation would survive only if the earth is protected from continuous onslaught on nature. He regretted that pollution of air, water and contaminating soil and food with harmful  pesticides were rampant which should be totally stopped.

The thought-provoking drawings spoke volumes on the rich greenery of yesteryears, the advent of modernisation on harming the earth, environment and ways and means of protecting the biosphere.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna presided. Kannada Sahitya Parishat Former President Maddikere Gopal, Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar and Artist Mohan Kumar Aradhya were present.
