A well-analysed letter on COVID-19

Sir,

I wish to thank Prof. K.V. Satyan for his well-written analysis of current situation, more particularly of NRI grandparents (letter titled ‘A curse called Corona in ‘SOM’ dated Apr.29).

Incidentally, we are also stuck in Dallas, Texas, albeit in the cosy comforts of our daughter and son-in-law’s home amidst two lovely grandkids in lockdown mode.

What Prof. Satyan has expressed in his letter resonates not only my view of the pandemic, but also of many similarly placed elders, particularly in countries like USA , where our Embassies (Government) have not yet come up with a repatriation plan for stranded tourists like us, in America.

Most of us are under Indian medicines, the stocks of which are depleting and not brave enough to risk trying local alternative.

Through ‘SOM,’ I appeal to the authorities to ensure our safe return plan to India in the current situation. We on our part want to return without being infected or infecting others (not put pressure on the already pressurised Corona Warriors).

Hope my appeal reaches the concerned and a positive way out is planned for people like us.
