AAP launches Oximithra Campaign in city

Volunteers conduct free door-to-door health screening camp

Mysore/Mysuru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Mysuru Unit, under the leadership of District Unit President Malavika Gubbivani is conducting door-to-door free health screening camp under its Oximithra Campaign in Hebbal 2nd Stage since last four days.

AAP volunteers Shivakumara K.M. Raju Aadhya, Renuka Prasad and Naseer Korikar are participating in the campaign.

Speaking to SOM, Malavika Gubbivani said that Pulse Oximeter helps to detect low levels of oxygen in blood of Covid-19 patients even before the regular symptoms of cough, cold and fever show up.  Such a condition of low oxygen level is extremely dangerous and if detected early, the patients can be treated at a hospital and their lives saved, she observed citing the example of Delhi which has one of the lowest death rates for extensive use of pulse oximeters.

Oximeters are not easily available to everyone or most people do not know how to use it. Hence AAP has started a nationwide campaign of recruiting Oximithras. Young people are requested to participate in this life-saving campaign. Proper training on use of Oximeters and protective equipment will be provided to the volunteers, she added.

Those interested may call AAP Office on Mob: 8884431221 to become an Oximithra.
